I find dvd.co.uk are so quick as well as cheap (no to mention no P&P)... ordered a couple of prog albums from them on wednesday night (for just under a tenner) and got them this morning. :)

That was just under a tenner for both together by the way (would have cost about double that in the HMV store up the city)... trying to rebuild my music collection at the moment with all that music from my youth which I once had on vinyl (and now miss), so these sites are my best friend.

After replying to an email I received on Friday saying I would like to take up the offer of a refundI have heard nothing. >:(

I then sent another email off this morning stating that I had not had a reply from the email I sent friday (quoting the persons name who sent me the email) still no reply and no refund.  >:(
What awful customer service from a so called reputable company, will not be using /or recommending them again.

Must admit Im not too impressed with them.  When Ive written in the past to their CS, they do seem to have a habit of ignoring stuff when its convenient :(

Knowing Play.com have been a little under handed with prices etc on their website recently,I am wondering if they know products are out of stock when you order but advertise them as being in stock, they then process your order, debit your account and then say the item is in packing, when in fact it is out of stock.
As it is in the packing stage you have no way of cancelling your order online. You are then left with trying to contact/deal with a customer support who seem to have very little interest in sorting your complaint out.

If anyone knows of a legal challenge,ie trading standards, can you please post the relavent web address please.

If I don't receive a reply from them today that will be the route I will be taking.I know the item only cost £2.99 but there is a principle at stake here.

Edit. Does anyone know what their address is so I can write to them.   :wall:

I sent an email to Jersey trading standards which I'm still waiting for a reply.
My order has been at long last cancelled, but I have noticed the item is still on their website as being in stock and has gone up £1

It will be a long time before I use them again.

I've come to the conclusion that on occasions Play do have some good offers...

but what I do think that is naughty of them is that Im pretty sure that if an offer becomes popular then they suddenly withdraw it and charge a higher price.  Ive seen this happen too many times now for it to be just a co-incidence. >:(

And sometimes they are hard to resist, but for me in future even if there is say something a pound dearer elsewhere then I will pay that pound.

It does seem when they post a 'hard to miss' offer, suddenly the price changes(upwards). >:(

It will be interesting what kind of reply I get from Jersey Trading standards.

It's ages since I used play.com... I get most of my stuff from dvd.co.uk, or if it's a really obscure movie, cdwow.co.uk often come up trumps.

What I like about dvd.co.uk is their 'help' page is actually helpful,Including an email contact address as well as telephone support

http://www.dvd.co.uk/help/

I had to 'google' an email address fro Play.com,even their postal address is hidden away and hard to find.
