Slowing Up
« on: January 21, 2009, 01:51:20 PM »

On our main family computer (3 users) I have had noticed it taking longer to boot and seems slower in general, I think I installed the PCLinux MiniMe os about a year ago.

What's the best way to speed it up again, Re-install ?. ( I cannot see one program thats using lots of resources.)
But if I re-install it will take long time to configure it again !.
Also if I made an image and re-installed that I would be in the same boat.  :'(

Linux doesn't normally slow up in that way unless you've installed something which hogs resources. You might be able to check the cause of the longer boot time by using the verbose boot option (I think you hit Escape for this) and seeing where it pauses.
