It's another daft, intrusive bit of legislation which will cost money and achieve nothing. >:(

Jeeze - imagine all the storage space thats going to take up (including the spam)!

... just in case some of it is for terrorism.. in which case they will probably be strongly encripted.

... and another point - since its now going to be stored - just who will have access to it and how secure will it be?

[edited to add]

Just seen this bit

and the usefulness of that will be?

As mentioned in the Telegraph article, this will include all the spam you may receive, so the records will show you as having communication with porn sites, fake drug sites and so on. Soon we'll ALL be suspected criminals.

I originally started with a Supanet account, from there I setup a Hotmail account with Supanet being used as confirmation of who I was.
I then setup a second Hotmail address using my original Hotmail address to varify who I was, following on from that I have also since setup a gmail account using Hotmail to qualify.
"Confused yet"?

Now then.
I stopped using my Supanet account some-time ago and it has also since been removed.
My VM address is purely used for the odd email.

I would not think for one moment that I am unique, so how will any of this help them.
"Who the heck is oldfogy at ???"
