PC Speedscan Pro

Not being an avid telly watcher I've not seen this, but apparently it is being advertised.
Someone downloaded this, it's a spyware programme according them, AVG picked something up after he had uninstalled it.

Just a warning to proceed with caution.

Yeah nice spot yorkie  :) take a look at this

http://www.angelopc.com/2008-10-07/finallyfastcom-pc-speedscan-pro-contains-adware-adwareroguesuspect

Quote
Not to my surprise, AVG discovered a registry key had been added ("HKU\.....Software\Ascentive") which was adware related. AVG specifically labeled/identified it as "Adware.RogueSuspect". AVG "healed" it, but I also had to go into the registry to remove the suspect key (HKU\...\Software\Ascentive).

So not only is it adware it adds/modifies you registry

*EDIT* It's a pity how so many unfortunate PC users fell into this scam.

As I always say about spyware scanners and related stuff... read or ask on *reputable tech forums and see what the advisers generally recommend.

*such as this one, computeractive, bleepingcomputer, etc.
