fastens planks...........nails/screws/bolts/glue/

someone who fastens planks(although fasten is not really the right word) carpenter/joiner.........

The thing you fasten the planks with.............Hammer............... Planks(of wood)

Hammerwood.............East Sussex ?

You're all close-ish, but no cigars quite yet... one more clue if you need it as I know it is a fiendish one, but a favourite childhood holiday destination for me as it's where my maternal grandmother lived.

Anyway, if you google 'Cokelers' you might get a big big clue. ;)
