Still in Lancashire, there is a place called Corner Row ...........      an impasse is slang for corner  ( I think !) and Row  as in argument  .....     so that's my guess    :'(

does anything look promising   :lol:

(there used to be a ferry service from Knott End to Fleetwood, don't know if it still operates   ......it was from one exciting place to another     :lol:  -  apologies to anyone who likes  Knott End, but I remember, even from  childhood , being totally underwhelmed :lol:)      You brought back some memories  TD  :)  )
