I've been pondering    :hmm:    the gloom in the old days  could this refer to the 'gloaming'   twilight  ??  over the water   ....  It  all sounds a little bit poetic and Irish to me   :'(

I shall concentrate on that clue now TD ...    I was thinking   Mourne  (morning  - Dusk)  and lyrical     song   ...  but it was not to be !!
