Thanks for that Jamie. It looks as though you have to do through a few hoops to get it working, but I'll give it a go later.
Yes, it all installs through Adobe - possibly how it runs on Linux
You go to the iPlayer main page and click the Labs link in the bottom right. Then click the button saying you want to take part, then see the link I gave at the beginning of the thread for how to download the app.
