It looks like a weatherproof junction box and presumably belongs to BT; you shouldn't be messing with it. ;)

Are there 2 cables coming out of it? Where do they go to?
If it's to another property I'd really not touch it at all.

>> Which box exactly - hope it's not another RF2! (in joke for Kitz).

I know - that thought crossed my mind too.   I think I also thought for a short while that was an elite nte5 which can also have issues with adsl.. but when looking again decided it wasnt and it was just the angle of the pic ......   and erm perhaps the empty bottle of wine may have had something to do with it too  :-[

Leave the black box well alone dont touch...  but theres no harm in opening the small white one 'just to have a look' as long as you dont disturb anything.

I think that means that all is well with the internal stuff.  I'm just surprised that the BT engineer stated that all seemed acceptable if he was also experiencing the same speeds that SiDUDe is seeing.  It would seem to point to an external fault.

The only thing I can now think of, is if monitoring with routerstats shows up anything weird.

That certainly looks like you have a lot of 'back ground' type noise on that line.

Those spikes about 12:12 are very odd. Did you get any resyncs about then?
Have you got the sync speed graph for the same period?

For comparison here's my Tx noise graph over the last few days...

I thought you said it was a Be line.
Those aren't ADSL2+ sync speeds.

No, it's not a joke. And they're not the speeds posted in the thread in the Be Forum either.  >:(

What detailed stats do you get from the BeBox - please post them here.
