How do i insert a picture in to the forum posts
« on: November 11, 2008, 08:01:54 PM »

Hi guys, as the question says . How do i place a picture or image of say my routerstats etc in to the forum post .
I tried using the insert image link on the start new topic page,
but if i try to copy and paste from say paint the paste wording is greyed out.
Probably really easy but i must be missing it .
Thanks in advance :shrug2: :shrug2:

If you're using paint, you'd need to save it as a file (preferably JPG) and then use the upload file facility on the forum software, or use a photo hosting site such as Photobucket which will give you the code to use on a forum.

cause Im too lazy to type it out again heres one I prepared earlier :D

I normally screen capture the image and paste into a graphics program (if you dont have one MS paint should do the job).

You can then either upload the image to a free hosting site (such as ImageShack) and link to it using the insert image button so it appears like this

OR

if the image isnt too big you can upload it to the forum, direct from your PC..  using the attach image option found under "Additional Options & File Attachments" when you make a post so that it appears like this below:-

Ah , so the (insert image) lets you link to the picture or image ,and not directley insert it in to the page (as in copy and paste).
Cheers.

I think you will find it does not link to your PC, it copies it from your PC and pastes/copies onto the forum page.

Just as a matter of interest, the reason why you did not get my picture showing originally was because I went back to edit the post and was still editing the above text when you copied it, because I was having a problem with trying to edit the actual code so as not to show the actual picture in some of the text above it.

So I eventually found by inserting a .DOT between IM.G things are now sorted.
