If there was a fire in your house...
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:54:17 PM »

.... and you could only save one non living thing, what would it be.

I'll be very sad and say probably my laptop.

I can't take credit for the originality of this, someone asked it on another forum, there were some interesting replies.

I think it would have to be my file drawer, because that contains the information I would need for the insurance claim.

I think it would be a toss up between my box of irreplaceable family photographs, or the PC tower.

Guitar or PC... tough choice!

Heaven forbid it actually happening though - I'd probably have to choose the PC as there's a lot of irreplacable stuff on there... guitars can be replaced, however sentimental and attached you are to them. They won't be quite the same, but at least they'll do the same job. Data is irreplacable.

The trouble with picking up the tower is that by the time I got the myriad of wires and cables unhooked off the back, I would be toast.  :'(

I'd probably just grab the external hard drive I use as backup since all the photos etc are on it.

My wife would probably faff around grabbing all sorts of sentimental stuff and I'd have to run back in and drag her out .... after safely putting the hard drive somewhere  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Oh dear we're not a very sentimental lot, I have a small suitcase full of old photos an amalgam from my fathers and mothers families, some I obviously recognise and some are a mystery, most are irreplaceable, I suppose I could cheat and put the laptop in the suitcase.

p.s. Tufty wouldn't you be roasted, not toasted......

.....who said that, go to the NC immediately.

It might sound soppy, but it would be my late dads trilby hat which is kept on the top of a corner unit(its where he always left it while he was visiting). That hat is better than any photo(to me at least)
