Boiler Wireless Thermostat
« on: November 07, 2008, 04:00:11 PM »

Hi All,

My parents have decided that it is time for a new boiler in light that ours is 15years old and no longer efficient etc.

Anyway, they have gone for a wireless Timer/thermostat system which I have to say is quite cool but what I was wondering is would it affect my Broadband as they want to put it next to the CAT5e cable running upstairs  :(

The frequency it works on is: 433MHz

Thanks all

Jamie  :)

No problem. 433 MHz is several orders of magnitude higher than ADSL frequencies.

I suppose it wouldn't affect the Wi-Fi? 2.4GHz then either...

In answer to both your questions and any others that may be forthcoming:

I have one and it often sits on a shelf next to my wireless PC with no problems either way.
It does not have any effect either on, or from the cordless phones and my cell phones work perfectly well with it in close proximity.
Even the little wireless weather station works fine.
So it won't bother anything, and nothing will bother it.

There are no RF warning messages come with the instructions.
