Saturday 11th Oct
« on: October 11, 2008, 06:55:58 AM »

Morning all,

Firstly I must just say how I hope TD is safe and dry, with the last post he made on yesterday's chat it sounded awful where he is.  Those poor animals who have drowned too, how horrendous, just hope that people are ok and that the water has subsided AND it's stopped raining.

Don't know what the weather is doing here at the moment, cept it's nothing like TD is experiencing.  It was a lovely day here yesterday....maybe we will get some of the same today.

Hope you all have a good day whatever you're up to and I hope everyone is keeping warm and dry!

Chrissie

Morning all.

Yes, the weather in Kent is expected to be good for another couple of days. I really should have shown more sympathy for TD yesterday, as it really did sound bad up there in the frozen north. I hope you didn't have to wring yourself out.

Nothing particular planned for today, apart from a visit to the garden centre to buy another ton of niger seed to feed all those goldfinches. :)

Morning from a rather soggy SW Scotland.

It is still grey and windy, and there is a little light rain in the wind but nothing to compare with what we had over the last couple of days.
The roads are in the main now clear of water, they are clearing up all the mud and detritus that got washed out of the fields, so traffic is moving again.
The fields are still like large lochs with standing water all over the place.

TD Towers escaped being flooded by a couple of feet, but the grounds are under water and the garden will take some effort to put to rights.
All the homes in the village escaped the waters ok, and no casualties except the poor lass who drove her car into a deep spot on the road, at high speed,......came to a juddering halt and stalled her engine. She was pushed to safety then, silly girl, started her engine again..............oops, loud bang from under the bonnet and now a very expensive repair to be done.

I think the heavy rain has moved south, hope all the good folks in the north and west of England and in Wales are all ok, they seem to be the sufferers today.

Have a good day whatever you are doing.  :)

Pleased to hear you kept your feet dry TD.

Do you think its too late to tell Ezzer not to buy any blue eyeshadow, 'cos I really don't think it would suit him.

just back from Lincoln

i'm jealous :(
but i'm going on monday to see my boy.

i'm knackered today, so i intended to sleep late. My boyfriend and I were on the phone for 3 hours last night, until 6am. We didn't realise the time, haha. However, my best friend, who also lives in lincoln, rang me at 11am and woke me up.

i am, of course, working tonight.

My two year old great granddaughter, a lovely wee cutie, has just sent her old GeGePapa a birthday present ( not quite the right date, or even month) but it cheered me up when it came in.  ;D

Two years old and apparently a Linux fan already   :D

I think the young lad was simply trying to hide the MS stuff out of embarrassment.
