Sorry to disillusion you all... but the doghouse is actually for chaz.
All the cats have free access to the house via the cat flap.. but chaz likes being outdoors when he wants.. and whilst hes been ill ive certainly noticed that there were improvements on the days I carried him outside.
Theres one particular spot where he likes to sit which catches the sun.. but theres still some shade from the overhead trees/bushes.
The other week I cut a lot of these trees back (down from about 12 foot as theyd got out of control a bit).. which now means that they dont offer much protection/shade... and a cardboard box that he likes (one of the crisp one with a hole in the side) that was there would soon go soggy, despite me wrapping it in a bin liner.
So... soft git me... saw something on a website and ordered it. Which is now in the position so that he can sit in the kennel and still catch the sun.. whilst still getting protection from the elements.
Was dead chuffed with my bargain.. should have been a lot more... but was in a half price sale.. which someone has miscalculated so it was more like a quarter of the cost. The price changed on the website to the true half price the day after I ordered it.
It was a bit of an effort to build though since the instructions didnt tie up with the actual pieces that came in the kit.. so I was working blind trying to put it together. Been well worth it though because he loves it
I may have to make some adjustments to it though.. since its designed for a dog then the hole is very large for a cat... so if I can make the opening smaller it would offer more protection from the wind or rain... just so the inside doesnt get wet.
