Lego Cats
« on: February 05, 2026, 04:34:57 PM »

Since there are cat devotees on here I thought I'd mention, for those not in the know, that Lego have brought out two large models of cats. The started with Tuxedo Cat a black and white one, followed by the Orange Cat I guess their version of a ginger one! Both these sets when built are about 32cm or 12.5in tall.

A bit of background both our sons (now in their 50s and are Adult Fans of Lego known as AFOLs  ;) ) were brought up on Lego. More recently my wife has become interested mainly because of the botanical sets of which she now has quite a few! She is also a cat devotee!

Lego is one of my every first and earliest memories.  I can recall getting my first set in the temporary house we were staying in until our own house was built in Aus.  I would have been 4.  I was happier with the Lego than the Sindy doll (another story!).  As I collected more bricks, dad built me a wooden box with different size compartments for different types of bricks.  I was very strict about making sure each brick was kept in the correct drawer.   I hated years later when I had a sizable stash that I was told to share with my little brother who seemed to have more fun breaking up what II was building and incapable of putting bricks back where they belonged.   The kits and wooden box were eventually passed down to my brother and I have no idea what happened to them.  I bought some legos for my daughter but she seemed happier building polly pocket type of toys.

When I saw you say there were cat I got a little excited... until I saw the price.  :o  £90 is silly stupid.  Dogs £130  >:(

Yes they are expensive as are quite a lot of other sets especially those targeted at 18+. I think if they do a tabby cat my wife might succumb  ;)
