TP Link vx230v configure fttp
« on: December 21, 2025, 11:58:29 AM »

Can someone advise me if these are correctly set up for FTTP even if it was ticked under VDSL under PPPoE (there is no option to ticked FTTP?) as I know my TP Link vx230v support VDSL but I have no idea if these will work with FTTP over WAN port?

Better to wait and see what they ship you on the installation.
As it maybe WIFI7!
Vlan, I doubt you use, but yep ip6 activate.

Do you know what router Aquiss actual use?

According to their website it should operate fine. The DSL modulation type would be irrelevant if you are using the Ethernet WAN port because that is for the DSL port anyway.

You are in the wrong part of the config. If you look at p18 of the manual that @Dwight has linked it tells you how to setup the Ethernet WAN connection. You'll need the PPPoE details supplied by Aquiss and according to Aquiss' website VLAN is not required on an Openreach connection (only needed for Cityfibre).

Been confirmed by TP Link support team my TP LInk VX230v will work with Openreach FTTP via WAN port from ONT but need ISP username and password via PPPoE on both DSLWAN / EWAN settings. Told me VLAN is not required for Openreach FTTP. But did warn me wifi 6 might not getting full 900Mbps but no problem on the ethernet direct to pc or laptop from the lan port router using ethernet cat5e.

Thanks all.

WiFi 6 will be good for about 600Mbps. If we're talking a mobile phone, that's more than enough anyway.

Yeah true. Mostly all TV are slower wifi ( I really surprised all newest tv never get wifi 6/7 yet) I think it down to costy tv the reason for it. But glad my tv got ethernet (not sure if it was 100Mbps limit or 1000Mbps limit)

I just seen this online my god, my goodness me look at the price for wifi 7 router  :o :o https://www.netxl.com/network-routers/tp-link-archer-be900-quad-band-wifi-7-router/

They haven't got it because it would be pointless as none of the catchup apps etc need anything like that kind of speed.

I could think of far better ways to get fast WiFi than dropping 1200 quid on ... that.
