I went back through previous posts in this thread, and found your previous post mentioning them.

configured on my desktop, laptop, two mobiles and the email backup/archive on my NAS box, not forgetting reconfiguring the mail sending on the NAS and my router.

Just realised I'd forgotten the email sending for my APC UPS PowerChute - wonder what else I've missed!

Finally managed to get my refund from UK Websolutionsdirect / M247, seems they really didn't understand their own 14 day refund policy, or the distance selling regulations, as they refused to issue a refund.

Once I pointed out the law, and linked them to their own refund policy, they did refund my payment.

Given this, and the problems with email forwarding, and of course past billing problems with our work account I really can't recommend them.

Thats me all moved across to https://www.webhosting.uk.com/

My domain still goes to the old hosts, but that may just need a bit longer to update. My domain is with 1&1/Ionos, and all I had to do there was update the name servers (after setting up email accounts/forwarders), everything else domain related is pre configured at WebHosting UK.

You do need to set up the email accounts up first, then the forwarders if you have any, as it won't let you configure a forward that uses one of those email accounts until its setup.

Another catch is when setting up the email accounts, you can send a welcome email, but that ended up in the new account, and I'm sure I hadn't updated the nameservers at that point - but you can easily lookup these details, or open the new account in webmail.

Once I changed the name servers, email was instantly going to the new accounts.

This mornings job was to migrate the email using https://imapsync.lamiral.info/X/ which worked perfectly on three accounts, the fourth account kept failing authentication with the old host. No idea why, but I re-entered the same password at the old host, and then it worked, Outlook had no issue accessing the account, so the password was correct - weird!

Then all that remained was to update the clients, and job done, so long as I haven't forgotten something.

I'll give it a week, and then delete everything at hi2

Well done.
Did you need to go on your account settings on John's site to do the move as I still cannot get on my settings for email, John does not seem to want to help me sort it out.  :(
re.. you said, I'll give it a week... it's 2hi  :)

As long as you can retrieve your emails there is no need to access the settings, unless you want to check what is setup.

If you use POP3 to retrieve emails, then they are stored in your email client, if you use IMAP then they are stored and synced with the server, in which case you can use the IMAP sync tool to move them to a new host, you just need the connection details.

I did go into the settings on John's site to check what email aliases/forwarders I had setup, also handy to double check accounts, but if you know what you have there is  no need.

The only other time I needed to go into the account settings on John's site is when the IMAP sync tool couldn't connect, no idea what was causing the issue with that one email account though, so hopefully a rare problem, but there are ways around it if you have the same issue.

If your domain registration is with John you will need to log on to https://www.havehosts.co.uk/billing/clientarea.php to enter the IPSTAG for your new host.

Very good point, my domains are elsewhere, so didn't think of that.

Isn't Have hosts the old host, and 2hi is the recent replacement ??

The HaveHosts link Jelv posted is for John's administration site, and it does look like you could change IPSTAG there (can't check as I don't have a domain there), all the email configuration is done on the siteworx platform at 2hi.
