Good evening all,

We are currently in the early stages of fttp installation around here and there is quite a bit of activity taking place. I live in a area that was built in the mid 90s and is fully ducted. About 8 feet from my front door is the nearest openreach pavement cover and this has just popped up as work that is scheduled to take place - "Build 1 concrete chamber 725mm x 255mm x 665mm deep in Footway, Demolish 1 existing jointbox(s) or cabinet base(s)"

Any ideas what this might be for as the chamber itself was perfectly sound the last time I saw inside it (2 years ago) as it was completely dry and looked pretty much as it did when it would have been constructed when the houses were new. According to the listing they are coming to do this work tomorrow, but unless they are here very early or are here well after dark I will miss them so I can't ask myself.

Also, when fttp is new to an area do they tend to turn it on in phases or wait until the entire area is completed? Of course, I understand that this is not something that can be universally applied, but I'd be interested to hear what the general procedure has been.
