I'm not using Draytek kit but an interesting article nonetheless. Does sound like someone is trying to exploit a firmware vulnerability.

The comments are fantastic, help we deploy Drayteks and do not keep our own backups, help we do not know how these work, help.

There's no proof that a firmware upgrade will resolve whatever this exploit has left behind.

Draytek are exceptionally quiet

DrayTek have gone downhill big time. When I had my 2820, it was an exceptional product and very stable on my noisy line at the time. Subsequent Drayteks that I bought were a poor performance. I now enjoy the Fritzbox, and though it's very basic in its operation, it suits me fine. Plus, having firmware updates for the product that is quite old in tech years is a bonus.
