Printer problems on Solus Plasma Linux
« on: November 01, 2024, 03:39:24 PM »

My printer is acting up under Linux. It's fine under Win 11 but booting into Win 11 is a pain just to use the printer. Once the printer gets going under Linux its fine. It's a deskjet D1460 and on the advice of the Solus forum I downloaded Hplip package and installed. But using HPlip I think expired my refilled cartridges so am avoiding that app.

The problem, when the printer is left idle overnight connected to Linux when I try to print in the morning the power light starts flashing rapidly and no print. Usually pressing the power button clears any fault but this does not happen I have to disconnect the power plug and reconnect. Then the printer initialises. I have to go into printer properties disable the printer and re-enable for the job to print. I am using the hpcups 3.24.4 driver.

Any ideas?
