My address was planned for FTTP over two years ago but due to complications it never happened. I made contact with Clive's team and was told that the program was called 'retro new sites', where they roll out FTTP to properties that are easy to connect. 95% of the estate was connected, but unfortunately my address and a handful of others were missed. I was told a couple of different reasons by the complaints team - a lack of splitter nodes and some of the underground ducting being damaged so they are unable to get the fibre through.
fast-forward two years and nothing has changed with Openreach. But, Virgin media just knocked on my door. They have rolled out in the area (despite not doing any works). They seem to be using the Openreach ducting.
My neighbour ordered the week before me so is a little further ahead. While they were installing his fibre I had a peek. Interestingly, they did the initial install - putting a box on his house, opening these manholes but he was told there is a delay. I wonder if they came across the same collapsed duct that Openreach found?

The row of properties to the right of the road between the two x's don't have FTTP availability, but the properties on the left side of the road do.
I noticed there is a yellow tag that says UPP corporation - I knew they were rolling out in Newark this summer, but didn't realise they had installed already.
Now I'm wondering if I should hold off and possibly wait for the UPP service to go live
