Chilli sauces
« on: August 29, 2008, 12:38:02 PM »

Went to meet some friends last night, some were calling me over, all red faced, sweating, running noses, crying, some stamping there feet, others gulping down large quantities of milk.

One chap said try some of this, had a bottle of the stuff on the link and poured a drop on my finger. Wow! tasted fantastic, that lovely fresh chilli flavour along with a deeper taste which must be great with various meat dishes.  :yum:Oh and hot too.....

After a few more seconds. Oh boy thats hot! Then. Oh wow, I'm alive! cetainly felt my eyes start to water but it was plesant not uncomfortable.  Problem was a little while later I had to taste some more, had another drop then 2 teaspoon fulls. I don't normaly go for very hot dishes although I do love a moderate bit of spice, unless if I have a heavy cold. With this stuff it would certainly clear your sinuses and you'll probably sence the germs jumping ship.

I have got to get some of this for cooking, :yum: although I would'nt recomend having as much as I did then in one sitting, about 15 min's after I certainly felt my pulse was rising. The health warning isn't a sales gimmick

I have a modest collection of hot sauces, and Dave's Insanity is top of the list.

Check the label on the back - "Keep away from small children and animals".

A second recommendation then. I think I'll have to get some for myself. :)

I've been ok  ;D can't speak for the others though (however I do think 2 of them were making a meal of it, pardon the pun)

It's mainly the flavour of the stuff that impressed me although it is very very hot, but mind you eating the stuff neat and 4 helpings isn't a clever idea. I don't take any form of drugs but I did get an odd result from the sauce. I see where the idea of Homers "Trip" after eating so much of that chilli in one episode of the simpsons came from

I would still like to find a good chilli oil such as the type always served in Indonesia and Thailand in a small pot with a tiny ladle. a few drops on a rice dish gives some pep and a great flavour binging out the rice flavour too. The only ones I've tried (and from specialist shops) never a patch on the stuff. typicaly taste a bit burnt

Grow your own Ezzer - I do. I had Giant Thai, Cherry Bomb, Apache growing under 40W of fluoros last winter and they produced loads of fruit. Prairie Fire is probably the best indoor chilli and is very suitable for making oils

Also, strips waxed floors and removes driveway grease stains. Enjoy!

WARNING: use this product one drop at a time. Keep away from eyes, pets and children. Not for people with heart/respiratory problems.

Sounds like my kind of sauce and it doubles as a cleaner  ;D

*EDIT* I looked around and I bought this one http://www.scorchio.co.uk/pain-sauce-p-433.html The name alone makes you sweat  ;D

I love chillis for their flavour and the way they can bring out other flavours. The spicy bit is nice to a degree but I'll only go for something really hot if I've got a cold, hungry now

Gawd that reminds me of the task they had to do on Big Brother were one of the tasks was to eat different chillis.

Shortly after the task, they were given one of the hottest chillis in the world and even though they didnt have to eat it -  Mikey decided he would.
His face was a picture.. as the chilli gradually took effect.

Can I let you into a secret with regards to eating chillies, especially for a dare.

Do not breath in from your mouth, out is ok, but not in.
Because when the air being taken in hits the chilli filled mouth that really gets it going.
And don't chew the seeds, as they are actually the hottest when broken.
