Openreach second appointment, should I chase it up?
« on: October 03, 2024, 10:01:18 AM »

Hello

FTTP was due to be installed on 1st October. It was stated as a 1 stage OH feed with no anticipated issues on the BT checker. When they arrived, engineer stated there was a D on the pole so it would need a cherry picker/scaffolding or similar. They said they could do the internal work today and would book the external work. The internal work was completed in under an hour with ONT install and CSP box fitted to the property outside.

At 12:02AM on October 2nd, got an email from TalkTalk stating an appointment had been made for October 1st between 8am and 1pm... (basically a cookie cutter email received weeks ago when first booked).

I half expected an engineeer coming out yesterday but maybe wishful thinking. Is there any hope of someone coming today or what should I do to actually see what date they will arrive?

cherry picker is usually a two or three engineer job these days, have you got the mobile number of the OR engineer?
TalkTalk are going to be very limited in what they can advised as the job is in PONR until fully complete.

I did get the mobile number but it wasn't an OR engineer. It was some subcontractor (I guess) called MJ Quinn.

MJ Quinn would have passed it back as unable to complete in full.
You will be contacted by the Team who need to cherry pick.
