It shows bitswap is off on dsl stats, but when I telnet into the router it shows it is set to default 0, 0.

0 is default 1 is on, and 2 is off.

Shouldn't I have bitswap turned on?

Does anyone know the correct syntax to enter in telnet to turn bitswap on? for both upstream and downstream. I tried looking at guides and I can't figure out the correct syntax to enter.  im just a home user with 0 scripting experince.

Unless you get performance problems the longer you remain in sync, I'd ignore it.

I'm sure we've seen a few modems where for some reason they say bitswap off if the line has not been in sync for long, but then it suddenly shows on later, possibly after bitswapping has actually occurred.
