Talktalk don't do PPP on VDSL, only DCHP/IPoE.

They do if it's a business VDSL connection.

Talktalk wholesale does PPP when they are reselling their service; for example, other ISPs such as Andrews and Arnold use either TalkTalk wholesale or BT wholesale.

Indeed, only Talktalk residential do DHCP.
Their business and wholesale lines do not.

The OP is on Talktalk residential.

Hi, I was hoping I could take a look at the config as I’ve been trying myself for a while now to reach the Vigor WebGUI. I’ve followed the Netgate/pfSense how to access CPE/Modem from inside the firewall and still not able to reach the modem without plugging a laptop in directly to it and joining the 192.168.2.1/24 network.

My setup may be a little different tho, so it’ll be interesting to see how this has been setup working for others if possible.

My current setup:
Vigor167 > managed switch (untagged port vlan 88) > managed switch > pfSense on Proxmox.

Internet works via bridge mode and am able to reach both managed switches.

Any thought

I'm using OPNsense and it's pretty straightforward: assign the underlying physical interface used for PPPoE and configure it with the subnet used for modem management, create a GW and configure it to the modem IP, done (no need any outbound rules or any firewall rules on that interface).
