MTU Settings
« on: January 27, 2024, 11:53:58 AM »

Hi Folks.
So now have fttp, and wasn't getting full speed. So while watch YouTube came across the ping test and it's relevance to MTU. Found the speed made the change and now have full speed.
Also isn't there such a big difference between speed tests and also their servers.!
Regards
David.

Adjusting MTU is only relevant if your router doesn't support MSS clamping. And from what I remember, the maximum MTU on FTTP is 1500, anyways.

Okay, not to sure what MSS is but it did made sense to me, router was actually set to 1480. So not even the max, I'm now running at 1400. Which would suggest it's slower than 1500?
Thanks.
