Openreach FTTP Rollout long distance from neighbour
« on: August 01, 2023, 11:55:35 AM »

Hi, if openreach are rolling out fttp in my village will they upgrade my line? It has a run of poles that serve 2 houses (6 poles in field, around 450m). If they do will there be an installation surcharge?

Also how long would a 2013 fttc eci street cabinet last before being removed due to fftp rollout?

Thanks

I don't think there is an answer of any of these questions as it entirely depends on OR plans.

When openreach rollout fibre to an area, is every property normally covered or just the easy ones? The latter is what other fttp providers seem to be doing (netomnia and vmo2)

I believe it depends how the funding was allocated to the area.  During the rollout if it costs them less than expected for one section it may allow them to expand further.

You could try chasing it up with the Openreach CEO, his office can forward it onto your area manager, but even then the plan can change as the rollout progresses.
