The charts you post above are for Monday 13th evening?

Look at times, does this coincide with a live stream Everton vs Liverpool match that started 19:00, maybe the dip in middle is half time?

Where there any other issues, apart from BQM graphs not displaying correctly?

I doubt BQM 'pings' will be prioritized on the various networks.

Definitely not that.

That would take every single viewer to disable their steam at half time. Nobody watches football like that.
Half time isn't half an hour either.

That's a bit more serious than a busy football stream. VOIP would have been completely unusable last night.

When you say last night, are we talking about Monday 13th?

Why would VoIP be unusable, surely this would be prioritized traffic.

Surely when there is a 'live' event, there will be some congestion at certain points of the networks?

Lets see some more BQM next time there is a live event on TV, I am convinced some of the BQM's that are on congested networks, will show same.

It wasn't football.

It wasn't Monday night. Those BQM's are from last night (Tuesday the 14th).

People generally don't turn their streams off at half time so it's extremely unlikely a BQM would go from totally FUBAR to perfect at half time.

Monday night during the football Sky BQM's were perfectly flat. Not a blip in sight.

In comparison to other providers Sky are MUCH less affected by live Sports events that are also broadcast on satellite.
A large proportion of Sky broadband customers won't have streamed it but will have watched the satellite feed.
Sky glass and Sky Stream will change that over time but that's a very small proportion of their user base currently.

OK, apologies, I don't understand the timings then.

@Bogoff posted on 14th @ 19:30 (according to the timestamp on kitz forum) with some BQM screenshots above, the screenshots show congestion between 19:00 and 22:00, so I assumed the congestion was in the past.  :)

here i set one up today, bear in mind it is a house connection i work fulltime from and the kids are at home today so likely a lot of netflix going on. speed is 65/20 fttc so it does impact.

I don't really care typically about the congestion ping "shelf", though it's clearly a sign their network is creaking a bit.
The issue I really care about is the one here which seems to see my parents line disconnect and re-connect, which is shared with another BQM I found.  I was trying to collect up BQMs to see if more users share the same issue, but it seems that so far I've not seen shared spikes with them.
Highlighted here:

It does turn out that the other random customer is very likely on the same exchange as me as they're the other side of Norwich (where we are).  So it seems to be a local thing (for local people...)

See this one again, simultaneous drop with this other customer also at our exchange.  Didn't affect any of the other Sky BQMs.

They are live images. It can be confusing if viewing 24 hours later.

Just thought I would mention: https://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php/2023/02/linx-and-uk-broadband-isps-see-huge-15th-feb-traffic-surge.html

More something to factor on the 15th's stats.

So the congestion on the BQM's between 19:00 and 22:00 was the 'football' then  :)
Albeit a different match on a different day from a different streaming service

All makes sense now. Sky BB subscribers watching football on Amazon and/or downloading CoD at same time.

Looks like @Bogoff has different local issue at exchange.

It wasn't the football....

It wasn't Monday night. Those BQM's are from last night (Tuesday the 14th).

It was the 14th.... Not the 13th the Liverpool v Everton game was on like you suggested above.
It wasn't the 15th that the Arsenal v Man City game was streamed on Amazon Prime that the article talks about.
The COD update was also released on the 15th.

The blip in the BQM was Tuesday 14th. There was no major sports events on.
Even if there was football on, people don't turn their streams off for half an hour at half time, which lasts 15 mins

Sky BQM's were pretty flat for both Monday night and Wednesday nights football.

An increase in usage would not cause such a high rise in minimum latency.
That's a break in a fibre or a broken or misconfigured piece of hardware

I concur, it wasn't the football. Maybe it was a network upgrade misconfiguration in anticipation of the football the next day? I jest  :) Apologies for getting my dates wrong.
