Replacing Static IP routing on BT HUB with opnsense
« on: February 09, 2023, 11:42:39 AM »

I have just swapped out the BT business smart hub for opnsense. All working fine BUT now I need to implement the static IP allocation for our servers.

The static allocation from BT is as follows:

Your five static IP addresses range from xxx.xxx.xxx.129 to xxx.xxx.xxx.133.

Network address: xxx.xxx.xxx.128
Hub address: xxx.xxx.xxx.134
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.248

I also noted that the BThub had a static route to the lan bridge (br0) subnet :

xxx.xxx.xxx.128-255.255.255.248-0.0.0.0

I have tried Virtual IPs (IP Alias) and adding a route to null, but can't seem to get it to work.

Maybe I am going about this the wrong way? I am new to opnsense Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, sinesd! I suspect that one of our knowledgeable opnsense users may be able to help.
