Part query
« on: November 07, 2022, 03:24:41 PM »

Just wondered if anyone knows if it's possible to get one of these leads in the same style but longer or get some sort of extension for it?

Thanks

Maybe confirm exactly what it is for which helps narrow down the search. Most things are available!

Its a sata lead with a connector for power direct off the board. I wonder if its a custom made lead etc. Came out of one of my qotoms but using it for something else. A longer one would be great if it exsists..

I've seen some which look similar on eBay and come from an Xbox, I'm guessing an extension leadx2 might be the way to go.

I am not sure what it is before I comment, can you please post another pic of the long connector facing towards the camera.

@Chrysalis The long connector is a combined sata data and power connector. I have seen something similar in a NAS unit.

My router actually came with one too long to fit in the tiny enclosure, trouble is with these Chinese boxes you never know if the motherboard connectors are the same socket or polarity.

Extensions do exist though: https://amzn.to/3hoDZfv https://amzn.to/3WK4jAW

Ok looks non standard to me, that white connector isnt a sata power connector and looks kind of like a mini molex or maybe a 4 pin fan connector, seems hard for me to guess what it is from the picture..

I've seen similar cables inside external HDD boxes.

Something like this might do the job? https://linitx.com/product/pc-engines-sata-data-+-power-cable-for-the-apu-system-board/14217?

Or just buy separate SATA power and data cables and graft the power plug? SATA power cables typically come with a Molex connector.
