2 pin vs 4 pin
« on: August 29, 2022, 01:53:57 PM »

Is there a difference between a two pin and a 4 pin adsl phone cable that connects to the master socket to router.  does 4 pin have more performance?

No, DSL only uses 2 wires.

If anything a 2 pin may be better, as the unused wires could potentially act as an antenna.  On a short cable though, probably no real difference.

I think the old BT Business Hub had an option to choose inner our outer pair, I have no idea what scenario you'd have two different lines in the same socket though.

Just use very high quality twisted pair and keep it extremely short. Short length is the key.
