Do you need a micro filter if you dont use a phone? Does a microfilter filter out the broadband even if you dont use a phone?

No, a microfilter is only to split the voice and broadband tones so you don't hear them on the phone, the broadband is usually completely unfiltered.

I don’t have a phone and so no filters at all with my modems.

It makes a big lot of difference. It’s called annex I and it gives you well over a 200 kbps of upstream. It’s available in Germany, iirc, but not here. Marketing phrases "All digital", sometimes called "naked DSL".

If you had the choice, you would really want ITU-T G.992.3 Annex J.

I chose annex I because it’s like for like, whereas annex J is more like annex M
