£6.90 per month after the first 6 months is still a pretty good deal.

I moved to Lebara last October on a deal blagged by https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/mobiles/cheap-sim-only-contracts/

How do you find the data speeds?

How do you find the data speeds?

I'd imagine the only way you ever can, by testing it locally.  Not aware of any mobile operator capping speeds these days, its all down to local contention and signal strength/quality.

No 4G locally or 5G

Giffgaff for starters.
They can be considerably slower than o2 and they are quite open about it.

I've not noticed any difference from when I was on Vodaphone - but then I don't do anything that heavy.

All I can say is Voxi and Lebara seem to perform identically in my own testing.

I'm in very much an o2 area.
While an o2 operator will see band 20 band 40, 5g n28.
A Vodafone operator only sees band 20.

Both EE and vodafone have speed caps on many of their plans, at least when buying direct from their website.

100mbps on EE, and 10mbps for vodafone. Seems strange paying less to a MNVO like lebara and using vodafones network at full speed.

Has anyone noticed data throttling on Lebara, or maybe it's just where I live?
I took the 1p deal as an alternative to Three for my phone and decided to try the SIM in a 4G router to see what the performance was like. I live in an area where long line ADSL at 3Mbps is the norm and 4G mobile voice only works upstairs.
So, I thought I'd try some 4G data and see what the difference is between 4G & ADSL. When running a standard internet speed test, my download speed starts at 6M but within a few seconds it gradually slows down until the end of the test where it's 1M, the upload speed is a constant 1M as opposed to ADSL at 0.6M.
I somehow doubt it's normal for the download speed to decline at such a rate, but it is consistently doing that.
Any thoughts?

Lebara is awful round here, but East Northamptonshire seems to be a O2 area, with Vodafone mast sharing.
What this looks like is band 20 4g only for Vodafone, and Band 40, Band 1, Band 20 4g plus n28 5G for O2.

Bit of a mess, but for a penny I'm not that bothered.

Before blaming Lebara I'd want to see a comparison of their performance against a Vodaphone account from the same location.

I'm going to try a Lyca (Three) SIM, and will report back. Just wondered if what happens to mine is normal.
