Beamish Exchange Fibre Rollout Revisited (NEBEA)
« on: July 08, 2022, 02:39:53 PM »

Nothing had happened since the OR teams left the area last year, leaving a lot of the local area able to order fttp connections and frustratingly a few chunks that could not.

Take up has been slow but steady in my observations.

Recently Virgin have popped up and look to be carpet bombing the local villages with overbuild but also doing bits OR omitted first time round such as perkinsville, ouston, urpeth grange, all this is pencilled in starting around October/November.

Fast forward to today when an OR crew showed up in Beamish village, rodding, roping and measuring in the vicinity of the Shepherd & Shepherdess and the Alms Houses. This is one of the Pons that had blue rope and tree clearing completed but was never fibred up. So looks promising for the top end of Station Road and
Birchwood Close.

Speaking to the team they didn’t yet know how much they were going to be doing in the area just that a lot of it had already been roped on that particular stretch.

As for the remote Pons it looks like they will be done starting in 2024 as part of the commercial build so a long wait for us just yet unless something changes in the meantime.
