Covid Booster.

(1/2) > >>

tickmike:
I am posting this as it could be useful to others.

I got my 4th covid jab on Saturday even though I am not of the age of 75 and over (well I am getting there   :)) .

So how did I manage to book it and get it.

I use 'SystmOnline'     https://systmonline.tpp-uk.com
for my doctor surgery, booking appointments or repeat prescriptions etc.

Under 'Booking Appointments' I spotted 'Covid Booster' so clicking on it I could make a booking.  :o

Well I though I would get my wife to drive to the doctors to see if I would get it or not, surprise the receptionist just said sit down and wait for you name to be called, about 6 in front of me and about 12 came in after me (Not all looked 75 or over) :-\

My turn next, the nurse asked if it was my 4th, yes, told me it was for 75 and over, I said I had booked on 'SystmOnline', ok she said, I said maybe it's because I have a weak chest, yes she said and then told the 'Admin lady who was inputting the data on my medical records to add me on.

Then I had my jab  :) 'Pfizer'

One theory the nurse though they need all the jabs to be used up once they are out of the freezer, so open it up to others to get it to .

Yes they do, they have the use the entire vial within a set time limit.

I had my 4th a week last Thurs .

Got a phone call the day before Good Friday saying they had some spare that had to be used before the Easter hols... and that if so someone would be able to come to my home and administer it that day.

I think Im now classed as immunosuppressed.  I'm now also housebound which is why they visit. Was quite funny that the DN checked with me several times if I wanted to proceed... I do look extremely ill but Ive nothing to lose by getting it done.  The past few months are a struggle to stay out of hospital...  and I'm aware that hospital itself seems to be one of the places to end up catching it.   I dont _ever_ want to be on a covid ward again.

btw, this was my 4th and meant Ive now had all 3 brands of the vaccine.  First 2 were AZ no side effects didnt even feel them. 3rd was Pfizer This one was Moderna.  I'm not sure if it was nurse technique, or the fact I am not well or the actual vaccine but I felt this one go in, it was sore afterwards and got a lump in my arm that lasted a few days.  Nothing major, its gone now, but for me Moderna gave me quite a sore arm compared to the others.

So far, I have had three doses. The first two were Pfizer and no post-vaccination effects were noticed. The third one was Moderna and I developed arm muscle ache, around twelve hours later, that lasted for about three days.

Alex Atkin UK:
Our first two were AZ and third Pfizer.  Mum felt rubbish for about a month after each.

I felt rough for a couple of days, probably worse from Pfizer.
