I notice Maesteg has decent coverage of blue OR FTTP dots now...

Hi, does anyone know what these are? They are on top of most of the poles in the village. I've never seen anything like them before. I think the were put up by Barden Network Engineering. Who do they work for?
I've noticed on the bidb.uk website that Virgin media have a lot of works planned for Llangynwyd in the next couple of weeks (although nowhere else in the Maesteg area). Could it be them?

The one side appears to be Ogi box

There’s Openreach CBTs and then Virgin Media

Looking at one of the photo's more closely I can see that it says "Property of Virgin Media" on it!
Didn't think the camera on my new phone was that good!

It hadn't twigged with me that there'd be Virgin Media gear on poles in Maesteg. There is no availability up the valley AFAIK! Interesting indeed.

So after checking the OR FTTP availability website every day for the last month the checker went green on Friday and I am finally able to order FTTP!  ;D . Decided to go for the full gigabit, because why not.
Checking other postcodes in the village I see that most of Llangynwyd can now order fibre, just 2-3 streets still unable to order.

So I've now noticed that on bidb.uk, Openreach has changed from Planned to Unplanned... Anyone know how accurate this is? My town (I'm connected to SWAAZ) is supposed to be done this year...

Which one is the Ogi box?

Someone is hanging coiled up fibre cables on telegraph poles in my area, am 99% sure it's Ogi.

As the one that can be seen in the image named Pole2.jpg has a label that states "PROPERTY OF VIRGIN MEDIA" then, by elimination, it must be the one that can be seen in the image named Pole1.jpg that is owned by Ogi.  :)

Yup, build is ongoing in Maesteg for Ogi.

I don't think any of them are Ogi boxes. The thin box sticking out sideways is from Virgin, the others are from Openreach. While Ogi have installed their cabinets in the area I don't think Ogi have installed any cables in the ground yet.
As for my install in Llangynwyd, I had FTTP installed by MJ Quinn on Monday afternoon. The installer did a very good + neat job. There was a slight snag with the install, Openreach hadn't commissioned the CBT on the pole (one of the perils of being so quick of the mark with ordering FTTP).  So the installer raised a "Fusion" ticket with OR and said that it could take them up to 72 hours to activate. I didn't have to wait that long though as the ONT was showing a green light by 9am the next day.
Now enjoying 1gb downloads from Aquiss.  ;D

I'm in Porth, not Maesteg though 😇
