CityFibre builds in west of city proper and Ossett. Openreach in Wrenthorpe, Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford and some surrounding villages. Netomnia build slowed in Wakefield, some resources moved to Pontefract by the looks.

For whatever reason despite being a 'trial' area Wakefield is most definitely not getting special attention as far as VM's XGSPON overbuild goes - bits of Kirklees are getting far more love very locally and further afield Barnsley and especially Sheffield are seeing far more relevant work.

Timescale for Netomnia / YouFibre probably pushing back from the original March/April. Exchange nowhere near ready yet so even if the fibre cabling were available it'll be unlit for right now.

Netomnia can't give a timescale. The entire Wakefield area is still 'being planned'.

Seem to be quite active in Pontefract at the moment a place where openreach has no plans.

Could be a case of waiting for Openreach or Cityfibre to sort out the ducts and save a bunch of money.

No chance. Sounds attractive however also means you'll be getting at the ducts after Openreach/CityFibre and in Openreach's case they can probably get customers live pretty rapidly after getting their equipment in there.

CityFibre are a different matter. They aren't going to have anywhere live for a while I don't think - they're busy building their metro network out while using existing ducts and poles to reach customers once they've dug next to them. Netomnia are relying far more on PIA, CF are only using it for customer drops.

Wouldn't surprise me. Community Fibre seem to be doing this in Wandsworth.

I assume they are working on the basis that they expect to be able to light up their network faster then Openreach in this area.

Bunch more Netomnia works in Wakefield proper now. New chambers, duct repair and here and there, shhh, new poles.
