Stay with Plusnet or go over to Vodafone Superfast ?
« on: January 08, 2022, 07:14:59 PM »

We are in the process of moving house , currently on Plusnet but where we are moving to Vodafone Superfast/Ultrafast & Gigafast services are available.

It might seem as a no brainer to go with Ultrafast/Gigafast but has anybody had or got any experience with these Vodafone services good or bad ?

That would be CityFibre I presume?  You could check if Zen offer the service in that area if you're unsure about Vodafone.

I'd definitely not stick with Plusnet if an alternative true fiber provider exists, especially one that offers symmetrical speeds.

Much more likely to be Openreach based. They have a much bigger footprint than Cityfibre and Vodafone sell all of the above on both networks.

Their Cityfibre seems to have better reports (anecdotal evidence) but I've also seen positive comments about their Openreach ultrafast too.

A couple years ago Vodafone had really bad congestion issues. They entered the market aggressively, grew very quickly and couldn't keep up with upgrades fast enough.
They are over the worst of that.

To give then credit they do limit what speeds are available in areas that are oversubscribed. Some Openreach FTTP is limited to the lower ultrafast tiers until exchange upgrades are done.
I'll give them some
