Anyway, Burakkucat has turned up a photo of the very pole - when an additional drop cable was being installed ? I have of course completely forgotten about that photo.

A&A told me that they don’t get notifications from OR.

I’m not worried at all about it being disconnected. Can go 3G or 4G for a while. The Firebrick will switch to AA 3G automatically, AA reroutes the same address range seamlessly to the Firebrick’s 3G USB ‘dongle’ NIC. Janet has free EE 4G though, whereas AA 3G is viciously expensive.

Janet later told me that the OR man was intending to drill a new hole, so it won’t be a mere 20 mins.
