Looking at the BT Home Essentials website it says "Average speeds up to 67Mbps" which suggests its an 80/20 service. For the money that looks like a great deal if you are eligible.

It's 40/10 for £15 or 80/20 for £20.

Got email from Openreach was hoping for FTTP come along but bad news

You have emailed the CEO of Openreach with a general availability query... and Clive himself has answered you personally.

You've contacted your ISP about your sync rate dropping despite the fact that you are within your estimates, and despite the fact you keep saying you don't need the speed.

It's staggering how much of other people's time you are wasting, including members of this forum.

You have SRA, there's no best time to resync. It doesn't work like that. The sync will always correct itself back to the target SNRM.

That's the last answer from me on your perfectly working broadband connection.
I usually just offer you help and try not to join in with others criticising you. I fear that may be encouraging you.

You have always had an unhealthy obsession with your broadband but as the speed that's available to you goes up your obsession just gets worse.

This is the wrong way to start a new year.

I’m not sure we are helping by engaging in these debates?

I have phoned up BT about BT Home Essentials and has confirmed the correct price below:

BT Home Essentials FTTP 80/20 £20 a month inc line rental (No DLM)
BT Home Essentials FTTP 40/10 £15 a month inc line rental (No DLM)
BT Home Essentials FTTC 80/20 £20 a month inc line rental (DLM)
BT Home Essentials FTTC 40/10 £15 a month inc line rental (DLM)

They will not offer any G.fast 330/50 or 160/30 at this stage.

For BT Home Essentials you need to be with UC, ESA, JSA or IS benefits (income based and income related only) for next 12 months with your proof ID with DWP.

I know Sharon Gibson. She's really nice. Please don't misuse her contact details. She cannot get FTTP to anyone faster. She neither has the power or the resources.

Downgraded myself yesterday. Better things to spend money on than broadband capacity we never use.

That’s a great statement. I wish adslmax would concur as well.

Probably the best post you've put on here, max - good effort and IMHO, needed.

I think this thread has reached the end of usefulness.

Just a note.   Please dont make assumptions about moderation issues and actions when you are not aware of full circumstances, but in the same vein I comprehend that there is frustration regarding the repetitiveness of this question.

Locking for now.   Will follow up later.
