I am trying to stop using the supplied EE Smart Router as I have a Google Nest Wifi setup.  I have purchased a known working HG612 and followed the settings shown in this thread over on the EE forum.

Can anyone help me get the DSL connection to work, and at the moment it will not connect so I have no internet.

Perhaps I'm not understanding, but I can't find a setting to enable this, and I can't see any mention of it.

The DSL light never comes on. Only power and Lan2.
I want to use it as a modem only.

I have read that, but that certainly did not work for me.

The EE forum setup is to use it as a router, to use it as a modem just do a full reset( hold the reset button in for a long time ) to get to the default state which is a modem.

You then have the problem of getting the Google Nest to operate as a PPPoE router and enter the EE username and password in it. It can be done but from reports I have seen it isn't particularly easy. Probably best to put your EE router back and do some googling to find out how to do it.

Agreed, but until there is DSL sync on the HG612, the OP is going nowhere. I was only referring to the HG612 as being plug and play.

If OP has changed default settings it won’t sync. Restore to default and it should sync and all lights should be on.

Can I use the GUI option to reset instead of the long button push?
I'm happy to try again, but I have yet to see the DSL light lit, with any settings. Would you expect this to be lit even before the router has been connected?

These came locked down with no ability to change settings so they HAD to be pre configured.

If after resetting it you have no sync then it's broken.
If after resetting it you have sync but no internet then the issue is with your router.
