G.fast Upstream Faulty
« on: December 15, 2021, 09:14:10 AM »

I woke up at 6am and saw large drop on BQM and check the dslstats can't believe it got very large errors on upstream and snr was badly up and down. The lower upstream rate drop to 6000Kbps instead of 33000Kbps.  :(

330/50 has gone overnight!  Now at 232/36 :o No longer have that! Seem faulty on line card on the dslam cabinet?

I raise the fault with ISP.

Any idea what has caused upstream faulty? I have powered down for 40 minutes and back on at 8am, still the same no difference. Upstream still up and down!

For someone who's not monitoring their stats (using Openreach modem ????) you seem to have a lot of stats!
Get them to look at it and see what's going on.

Max, you told us you'd stopped doing this. Why do you do this to yourself as you know it causes you stress?

Yes these things happen and if you did look at your stats it would have passed unnoticed. There are many people who enjoy the internet but don’t check every minute their connection!

But a very large errored seconds and crc will caused DLM triggered on Upstream more likely to put more interleaved. Anyway hopefully the Openreach engineer will resetted G.fast tomorrow.

I'd guess the zyxel modem firmware, what software version are you using?

Nah nothing to do with the modem firmware because it was stable for 15 days before. Everything seem back to normal now as the upstream snr steady. But disappointed with speed drop 330/50 to 234/37. Make me think the engineer could messing up pair port at the junction box outside like swap the pair. Will tell engineer tomorrow.

That's appalling. Deepest commiserations. Life's a bitch sometimes, but hopefully you can be strong and recover from this setback.
