"Cell tower” american?
« on: November 04, 2021, 01:45:31 AM »

I have noticed a number of posts recently that use the phrase "cell tower” in connection with RF public long-range cellular networking. Is this American usage?

I call these devices "basestations" - what do you say?

I believe Cell tower is one of the rare occasions where Americans actually use a more technically accurate description so I don't mind using it.

Cell.. I think of Bee's Honey comb, which is how the masts/towers are "sort of" arranged.
