Expected speed
« on: August 17, 2021, 04:59:55 PM »

Thinking of moving ISP, what speeds can I expect with these setting on 80MB package?

Exactly the same as you are getting now, changing the package won't increase your speed.

And, having looked at the above data, I'll add that either the 55/10 Mbps or the 40/10 Mbps underlying Openreach product will be sufficient. (Only go for the 80/20 Mbps product if there will be no extra cost.)

Think of it like this, if your car is only capable of 50MPH, changing the national speed limit from 70MPH to 80MPH won't make your car go any faster.

>> I thought with 37MB on a 4b package

If it was a restriction of a 40Mb package then the line would sync at 39,999 and the SNRmargin would be in excess of 6.3dB.

Sync speed  is determined between your modem and the DSLAM in the cab.   ISP doesnt have any control over this particular aspect and its based upon your line length and condition.
