I just wanted to warn others to be careful, and review/test the mechanism for getting renewal warnings.

Do you not have an auto renew option? All of mine are set to automatically renew, just one provider at work has issues where they seem to take the direct debit after the domains expired, then renew it which is worrying.

well you seem to be moving everything to AA, that's putting all your eggs in one basket IMO.
should something "happen" to AA then you have trouble with everything you have with them.

best to spread out your services.

What is the correct term for such top-level labels as .com, .uk, .net, .org etc ?

Yes and SLD is the second-level domain. So in kitz.co.uk the TLD is .uk and the SLD is .co.
