Interleaved or fast path?
« on: July 27, 2021, 09:32:07 PM »

Hi all,

Long time without posting or looking at here due to personal reasons and work. Happy zen customer here that just left them due to getting great offer from BT - infinity 2 for £20/pm and no contract so can cancel any time! This is the main reason for leaving zen despite it being a great service and low latency!

I am expecting the same from BT as had 10ms base latency with Plusnet and Zen so far. Currently base latency is 17-18ms with uptime of 6 days (had no resync since day 1 - 21st July).

I am attaching a screenshot of DSL from my router TP-LINK VR2800 which is showing a downstream of 79442, was 79987 with zen while on fast path for solid year. Not even a day interleaved, was on fast path since activation day. Also SnR were much higher, around 11dB.

By looking at these stats especially downstream, are you able to tell if this will go to fast path soon? My line is very solid, literally 10-20 ES per day on fast path with zen when tested.

Thanks in advance!

Is it just me or is the screenshot missing?

I think all we can say is it should do in a few days.
Although there must be some logic behind it somewhere, there doesn't appear to be any hard and fast rule at how long it takes.
I've seen some lines take 3 days and others a couple of weeks.

PS I take it you are on a Huawei cab?

Hi kitz, thanks for heads up! Unfortunately ECI cab user here, around 150-200m away. VR2800 uses latest broadcom chipset doesn't it?

From observation only, the ECI based lines do tend to take the longest.   :(
