Decipher  ???

C'mon mate - you live next door to these places - didn't want to disclose your whereabouts as you may want to keep it private.

I'm sure Kitz will crack two localities near you, one beginning with KE and the other beginning with H  ;)

Knowing of your exchange, I'll just say that its code begins LC . . .

@bcat thanks but I’m familiar with my exchange code. For the life of me I can’t fathom where Ke and H are.  :(

My location has appeared on the map now as it was also on the last .pdf that openreach released. It is hinted in this thread that more detailed information is available on timescales and perhaps specific areas, so may I ask where I should look for this or if one of the kind 'insiders' here would consult the documentation for me?

I was going to ask something like that too spudgun.

I'm going to give it another couple of months to see if the Oldham area, or at least my part, suddenly gets a date.

But the question is, who is the first port of call to find out any information? Openreach or the local authorities?

It looks as if Openreach have updated the legends on the map to be a little clearer regarding dates.

They now show as:
  • To be built between April 2021 and April 2024
  • To be built between April 2022 and April 2025
  • To be built between April 2021 and December 2026
  • Build Complete

Better but still in need of work. Do they perhaps mean that this is when they expect to complete the main build?

Two local exchanges in the 2022-25 group are both in advanced levels of construction already.

It's definitely not clear, but I would make a guess that it's when they expect to complete the build by, based on what you mentioned at least with the two local exchanges. Definitely needs a little more clarity on what they mean. I've seen quite a few Openreach vans around the town lately doing something in various manhole covers, although it could easily be unrelated.

It's a positive development on the version they previously released. Let's hope they continue to add more granularity as time goes on.

I'm a bit concerned that if too many individuals chase for more information specific to them, then they will release less information not more - as was the case with FTTC previously

Certainly the last I checked with Openreach directly, my exchange was due to be complete by mid to end of next year, so saying 2024 is definitely leaving them a lot of leeway.

That said, part of the coverage for my exchange seems to go into a rural area so it would kinda make sense that could end up taking a lot longer than the rest of the covered area.

Definitely take those maps with a pinch of salt, my exchange now says 2026 yet I am already live and new bits are popping up every week now!
