I am having difficulty accessing the internet through my HG612.

I have copied settings from another thread and think that they are correct:

PTM
DSL Latency:    Path 0
PTM Priority:    Normal Priority

WAN
Layer2 interface:    ptm1/(ptm1_0_1)
WAN connection:    Enabled
Service list:    INTERNET
Port binding:    none
Connection mode:    Route
Connection type:    PPPoE
WAN 802.1q:    Enabled
VLAN ID:    101
WAN 802.1p:    Enabled
Value:    0    - I have tried 2 as well
NAT:    Enabled
Username / password... I have checked these with my ISP.
Authentication mode:    Auto
Dialing method:    Auto

When I use the auto diagnose feature I get the error message: Please check the PPPoE of the default gateway.

In the WAN network status I can see my IP and gateway as well as the DNS servers.

I'm at a loss of what to try next. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Your trying to use this as a modem and router ? What ISP? Eg those settings don’t work with Sky.

I am wanting to use it just as a modem as I have a router that I have installed dd-wrt on that I want to connect to it.

My ISP is EE.

I really appreciate any input as I don't really know what I'm doing.

You need to change to mode to Bridge. No user credentials required they are set on router. The default settings will work without any changes as a modem.

These are the settings I currently have on my bridged HG612. The PPPoE credentials should then be set on your router rather than the modem if you're using bridge mode.

Reset the device to factory defaults.

The HG612 comes preconfigured as a modem with the correct settings for any UK ISP running OpenReach FTTC.
No settings need changed.
