Ideally, you would make use a router capable of handling 1 Gbps at a minimum and would connect it to the ONT via a Cat5e or Cat6 cable.Hopefully other members will be able to advise you on the capabilities of the TP-Link router.
It REALLY depends which FTTP package you plan to get.A cheap router should handle up to 80Mbit, possibly 330Mbit fine, but 500 or 900Mbit you're not talking cheap routers any more.
Build yourself a pfsense box. Even old x64 hardware will do multi-gigabit
