G.Fast Regrade
« on: June 08, 2021, 12:40:57 AM »

Right folks, my G.fast been rock stable for 2 weeks now steady above 210-222Meg and still above 29-31Meg on max rate. I been considering of regraded to 330/50 because I need 210-222Meg downstream and 29-31Meg upstream will be ok for extra £7 a month.

Do u think I should regraded to 330/50 from 160/30?

My isp told me not to bother as it would be pointless to regraded for extra 50-60Meg on downstream but no extra on upstream! Told me to stay on 160/30 otherwise the regraded to 330/50 cannot be downgraded for next 12 month in contract plus regraded cost £15 inc vat that charged by TTB as a one off fee and take one working day to completed the regraded order.

Max, please stop looking at the circuit statistics.  :(

You really do not need the higher throughput package but you do need to keep that £7 per month in your bank account. Heed the advice that your service provider has freely given.

Ok fair enough. I stay with 160/30. I will uninstalled dslstats and don't need to look at max rate anymore. I will keep £7 a month for something else.  ;) Good news I got £265.25 credit back in my account from Plusnet as final bill. All refunded into my account  ;D

Max, you've made the right decision there. You've got more than enough speed to do everything you want to do, so use that £7 for something more useful.

Not worth the upgrade, but i worry you'll do it anyway.

I am adding to this because I can...  and also because I am appalled that you would even contemplate changing product.

We have every sympathy with your issues Max and you will find that members of this forum have gone over and above trying to help you and support you with you venturing into the world of g.fast again.   BUT, it has to be said that there comes a point when I say you have to stop this right now.

You have totally disregarded the help, information and facts given by people on this forum.  That is unfair and I will not have you taking advantage of people's time and effort who have tried to advise you, by you ignoring what has already been said many times over.

You totally seem to have forgotten have last time you went on g.fast it affected your mental health and you had to get a note from your doctor in order to be able to cancel your contract with GreenISP.  You also have forgotten how unhappy the 330/50 product made you, but I shall remind you - this is just one of several posts where you wanted to downgrade.

I think 217Meg down with 50Meg isn't worth the money but 160/30 will do. I do regret shouldn't have ordered 330/50 in the first place cos it won't let me downgrade to 160/30.

I no longer believe that you are not checking stats, speedtests etc.  I repeat we have gone above and beyond to help you and you are now beginning to take advantage of members of this forum who have been trying to assist you and have been overly considerate knowing that you do have issues - far more so than on most other forums.

You also have to bear in mind that the FTTP roll-out is progressing quite rapidly and I can just imagine the tears if you find yourself locked into a 12 month contract.  I suggest you pack Zyzel away and contemplate for a short while how much misery you were in last time you had the 330/50 product.

As such I do not want to see another word about it - nor see your stats unless there is actually something physically wrong with the line. Let me make it clear that this is a warning that if this continues I shall consider a short break from this forum may be in order.
